For as long as I can remember, I have been passionate about three things, Family, Food, and Fishing. Growing up in rural Mississippi, I spent much of my youth on the local lakes, ponds, and rivers. I would fish for anything that would bite and, more importantly, anything we could eat. Catfish, bluegill bream, large mouth bass, and white perch were all the norm.
My travels in the US Army initially took me to the beautiful Emerald Coast, of the Florida panhandle, where I landed my first redfish. From that moment on, I was hooked on saltwater fishing. I spent every free moment I had on the bays, beaches, and piers. I learned every technique I could, and picked the brain of every saltwater fisherman that would tolerate my non-stop curiosity. I was fortunate enough to spend much of my free time, during my military career, fishing some of the most majestic waters on the planet. From the Mountain Rivers of Colorado and South Korea to the marshes of south Louisiana, I loved every moment of it. Through the years may things have changed but, my passions remain the same.
I made many lifelong friends and fishing companions along the way. I had the honor of introducing several of those friends to my love of fishing. I also had the opportunity of learning some great cooking and fishing techniques that I hope to share with you through this site.
Some of my fondest memories come from time on the water with those that I love and, the cookouts that ensued. I started Sea2Fork to share those experiences with you, along with recipes, helpful fishing tips, reviews of products I find useful, and DIY projects that may help you in your adventures.
I hope to connect with other outdoorsmen, adventurers, and food lovers. I look forward to building a community of people who share the same passions, so we may continue to pass on our love for the outdoors; through sharing the beauties of conservation, responsible harvest, and the delicious by-products thereof.
I look forward to hearing from you soon. Until then, I wish you fair winds, following seas, and delicious meals.
